'Get Active' sports camp will be running for another year after Handsworth Community Forum have been given a £6000 grant from 'Activity Sheffield'.

The sports camp, which offers creative phyiscal activities for 8-16 year olds, will be introducing two new sports this year with the up and coming olympics in mind.

Forum Manager Steve Wylie said: "It's a creative way to get children fit and running. The £6000 enables us to plan ahead and look ahead to other resources."

The scheme has offered activites to more than 3,500 children since 2010 and this year is set to be a success with the hiring of a Zorb Ball.

Steve Wylie said: "This really spices up the scheme. I'm excited to see how many children will get involved."

The next 'Get Active' will be in the April half term.
